Maxwell Lewis Golding is a self-taught guitarist and amateur music producer. In high school he toyed with sequencing homemade hip-hop instrumentals which he sold to students for an extra buck, which later sold at Below The Surface, a Bay Area hip-hop outlet now out of business.

Today, Max’s fascination with musical alchemy has led him to fusing simple psychedelic and classical guitar compositions with live experimental instrumentation and electronic music. His production credits include Birds Fled From Me’s debut album, “Deeper Lurking” and the Too Dark For A Picture debut, “Your Album Title Here _______.” He has also released four solo albums: "Scraps," "Awake as a Hypnagog," and "Ideas" and "I Talk to the Moon." The latter two can be heard and downloaded in the listen section of this website.

Since Rob Gray moved out of The Artshole in the Summer of 2008, Max has taken over the organization and hosting of shows. Max also manages this website along with www.minusthemasses.com. Before his summer travels in Europe Max organized a food drive for the Santa Barbara Food Bank via online and performance oriented donations when he and Rob were still playing as VIRGINS in Isla Vista.s

You can visit Max's myspace page or see what he has available at MTM. Be sure to check out his two bands as well: Too Dark for a Picture and Virgins.
